Half of Napa's homes were built by 1974

A garage from those years can still have an opener made before 1993, with no photo-eye safety sensors. Since July 2019, every opener sold or installed in California has needed a battery backup. Wood and carriage-style doors weigh more than plain steel, so their springs have to match the weight.

Common questions
How much is a garage door repair in Napa?
Spring replacement starts at $245, opener repair at $185, off-track doors and cables at $225, and a tune-up at $149. The $59 service call is waived when you go ahead with the repair. All prices
Can I open the door with a broken spring?
No. With the spring broken, the door's full weight is on you or the opener, and it can come down fast. If the door is fully closed, pull the red release cord so the opener stops straining. If it's stuck part-way open, leave the cord alone and call (707) 754-1755.
Do you work on carriage-house and wood doors?
Yes. We replace springs, cables, rollers and openers on carriage-house and wood doors. A wood door usually weighs more than a plain steel one, so it needs springs sized to its weight, and a heavy door can raise the spring price. A new single steel door starts at $1,595 installed. Wood and carriage styles cost more.
Which towns do you cover?
Napa, including Browns Valley, Silverado and Coombsville, plus Yountville, American Canyon, St. Helena and Calistoga. St. Helena is about 25 minutes up Highway 29 from our Napa office. Somewhere else in the valley? Call (707) 754-1755 and ask.
